The Foundation Award is the revitalization of SMS Holding's decades-long VIP (Very Important Person) Program. Centered around our core values, The Foundation Award Program allows employees to nominate and recognize their fellow co-workers that go above and beyond their day to day jobs. Each quarter's winners will have the opportunity to win the prestigious Bill Award, which replaces the VIP of the Year Award.
Our late founder, Bill Coakley, had an unabashed drive to succeed, impeccable work ethic, and dedicated system of core values that charted a path of excellence for the company and its employees. Bill attributed much of the company's success to the efforts of the team, and always found time to recognize and praise each for their contributions. That tradition lives on through the Foundation award. Recipients embody his vision and passion for excellence.
Nominations will be accepted every quarter and evaluated by a committee. After a thorough review, the committee will determine that quarter's Foundation Award winner. The winner will be announced at the Bill's Buffet immediately following the end of the quarter.

Mike MacNeill is a 'jack of all' developer. Whether it is just one more SQL report that needs to be turned sideways or enhancing OnBoarding where it is just another 'if' statement or multiple billing systems that take care and feeding or a myriad of interfaces - Mike figures it out. His willingness and good attitude abounds. It has become a challenge to determine if we can stump him. Mike (our other Canadian in our technology group) fits right in here. His abilities and continuing to expand his business and technical knowledge clearly demonstrate the best characteristics in our company.
At the end of the year, all four winners of the Foundation Award will have an opportunity to win the Bill Award. To qualify, each winner must submit a write-up on why they should win the award, based on their work and personal accomplishments throughout the year. Videos, pictures, drawings, write-ups, or whatever creative measures will be accepted for judging. The write-ups submitted will be sent to the committee for judging, and the winner will be announced at the February Bill's Buffet.
